Hi, sorry if this has been asked before but I have tried searching for the answer but couldn't find it, I am in receipt of PIp have been for a few years, when I previously applied for mobility component I received ten points and was told I couldn't have more because "I can plan and execute a journey" . I have mobility problems and do use a walking stick . Although I do go out I usually have my husband with me as he is my carer and if he's not with me it's because he isn't allowed (covid rules) My back problem has worsened over the years and things are harder for me. Is there any way around this please because yes I can go out on my own but I cant always manage things like I did before. I hope this makes sence. Thanks for reading .
You need to have a look at the Guide to PIP Claims and Reviews. Look at page 77 onwards. It goes into detail of what the DWP are looking for and should provide you with the answer you need. Question 13 is not predominantly looking at the issues you have with walking - so even though things have become more difficult for you, that may not have any impact on your ability to plan and execute the journey. You're the person who knows your condition and the associated difficulties that you have so read through what it says and see where you think you need to argue for increased points.
