Advice please. was created by spanner
Good afternoon,

Osteoarthritis of both knees, during Physio sessions I was advised to walk with two crutches.
They have improved my stability and mobility.
During Physio it was recommended I wear an orthopedic knee brace
This knee brace was measured to my size and prescribed by my GP. Will this brace be considered an aid in my pip application?
Anyone in my position- - requiring a total knee replacement please torture you GP for one of these, they are fantastic.

Replied by BIS on topic Advice please.
Hi Spanner

Regulation 2 of the Social Security (Personal Independence Payment) Regulations 2013 ('the PIP regulations') defines an aid or appliance as 'any device which improves, provides or replaces [the claimant's] impaired physical or mental function' (including a prosthetic limb).

So yes it would count as an aid.
