Hi all, I am somewhat confused, I have read in several papers that come April  "older benefits will be scrapped" mentions UC but implies ESA etc. articals say they will be replaced with a fixed £163.50 pw and PIP will be increasing highest rate being over £900 pm. I have written to my MP asking for more clarification as the artical to my mind was not very clear. for example does this new fixed payment also replace ESA and similar?, does it mean that you either claim pip or the new fixed income? does this new fixed payment the basic and other premiums are added like ESA or not.? MP has not answered for a week now. |and then another artical mentioned to day that if you haven't found a job in 4-6 weeks the fixed payment is stopped??? Does anyone know whats happening, and then there is a further artical mentioning 'X' millions extra give to DWP to look for benefit fraud, tacking in was that breach individuals privacy rights....

Can anyone pleas clarify, if it's one benefit or another many will be in very serious trouble and then the fraud thing while in one way not new seems to imply they 'want and intend' to find frauds?

Hi me-myself

Benefits are not stopping in April, so for the time being do not worry, what you read was a report on benefits.

If anything was going to happen, you would hear it first in our free newsletter.

New regulations have been issued which reduce the period during which limitations on a jobseeker's work-related requirements are permitted from three months to four weeks.
It require jobseekers who are capable of work to search more widely for available jobs beyond those of a similar nature or level of remuneration to that of their previous work following the fourth week of their claim, rather than the thirteenth week as is currently the case - this is known as the permitted period.
