PIP Tribunal was created by Matey
I have a telephone PIP Tribunal coming up soon.

I have submitted my case online and received the DWP's bundle, I responded to their reasoning online and have recently submitted
new evidence from my GP addressing a more recent diagnosis that adds to the long term decline of my main disability and to address the DWP's
thoughts that my disability/conditions will improve - my GP says they will not.

I am now becoming anxious about the tribunal, and about how I can express my difficulties especially regarding going out and engaging face to
face.

I thought I had expressed my difficulties well but as I was first awarded no PIP, then after a M R only standard daily with no mobility, it seems I'm obviously doing something very wrong.

How can I get it right for the tribunal?

Hi Matey,
I think firstly not go overthink this! No matter how eloquently you explain things to DWP including assessors they either can not or will not understand! Tribunals are much more sympathetic to claimant's accounts of their disabilities.
However what I find very effective for clients is to describe a recent incident or a bad incident that is typical of what happens. How did you feel, was there panic, was there sadness, or despair, did you have physical symptoms, what did you feel, maybe chest palpitations, shaking, chills, incontinence etc? How long did these problems occur, did you feel irritable, aggressive, afraid? Were you affected the next day/s ,how - fatigue, mental exhaustion, pain? Did anyone else witness an incident, what do they say happened?
Write a paragraph or two to explain everything that happens. Try and think of analogies, perhaps using scene from a famous book or movie. Use lots of adjectives. Let a friend read what you have written. Get comments and amend as necessary. Nothing is right or wrong. It is your story. It should be in your words. Don’t be embarrassed or hold back. (Except don't swear) Get any witness to write their version and compare, and mention if you didn't realise how you looked or reacted etc.
Keep a legible version with you at the hearing. If you have time you can send in 'your story' in advance. You can refer to instances from a disability diary if you have completed one.
Be yourself. Tell your story in your words. Be brutally honest.
Hopefully this will help to convince the tribunal.
I hope this helps.
Good luck.
Let us know how you get on.

Hi Matey, just to extend a detail on LL26's super advice. About 'keep a legible copy with you at the hearing.'
If you're anything like most of us [me for sure] you will be stressed/nervous at the tribunal. So it's worth typing up the piece you write and putting it in larger than usual type, with several line spaces between each line. This should make it much easier to refer to in between trying to listen to the panel. Even colour highlight key words, whatever will make it easier for you.
Best wishes,
Denby

Update

I have had my tribunal, which was held by telephone, which I found a little less traumatic than actually leaving my house to appear in person.

We (my spouse and I) were introduced to the panel on the telephone then to my absolute shock, I was told the panel agreed with what I had said I believed I was entitled to - in my submission.
That then concluded the tribunal - over in less than ten minutes.

My very long PIP review initially awarded no PIP, on M R I was a awarded just standard daily but at tribunal I was awarded enhanced daily and standard mobility.

A telephone tribunal worked well for me, definitely less nerve wracking than in person. Don't give up, appeal if you believe you are entitled to more help.
I just wish the DWP didn't put me through such a year long wringer, when my evidence clearly proved my difficulties.

Thank you for your help.

Hi Matey

Thank you for your post, it will help allay fears from fellow members who are starting the journey.

That is really terrific news, well done and congratulations. I am tagging my reply so that the back office also get to read your encouraging post.
