Online PIP application for a friend. We've just hit the submit button. was created by phrank
Hi all,
I've been helping a friend with his first time PIP application. I think through my own past mistakes and experiences that it does sound ok.
I'm posting this as it was done online in the hope that it might be useful to anyone who has an online form to fill out as it is relatively new process.
iI's not really any different to the old paper form but obviously neater as everything is typed out.
You can save the form at any point and return to it later. The only thing that really fazed us was adding extra information in the way of health professional's supportive letters but we got there in the end. You just take photos of the documents and upload them at the very end.
Obviously, this is the way forward and it shouln't be too long before they become more common.
Regards,
Phrank.

Hi phrank
I found your post useful as I have not yet come across a on line claim, so it was good to hear of your experience in completing one.

Hello Phrank
Thank you for posting this because I am helping my brother with his claim and we are intending to do an online submission. I would like to know about submitting supporting wvidence. Can you upload a PDF file containing all supporting evidence? I was going to make a PDF file then page number each bit of evidence then refere to it in his claim.
Thanks

Hi Gary,
I'm glad you found my imput useful. As for the online application, I'm still undecided as to whether it is adventageous (to me at least) or not. The advantages are: there are no worries about postage costs or of it getting there - and it is easier to read.
The disadvantages well, will this become a compulsory thing? Or will there always be a paper form to fill out for those who prefer it? There are still some people out there who don't use the internet and I wonder if it would be enough to
put some people off claiming?
Although hand-written forms are more difficult to read in general, I think they indicate a person's mood better and can give some ideas of the difficulties they have in more detail than something typed out.
Just my opinion.
