Change in circumstances PIP was created by lauren
Hi, sent in my PIP first application 4 weeks ago.I have just come back from seeing my GP with a diagnosis of Asthma and am inhaler.I believed the breathlessness was down to anxiety which I wrote down on my pip application along with cervical stenosis fibromyalgia, anxiety and depression.

Should I ring them to tell them about this addition or will it make my present application invalid and have to start all over again?

Thanks in advance

Hi Lauren,
Presumably you explained that eg breathlessness caused difficulties as to why you couldn't do various PIP descriptor activities? Do you have a doctor's report confirming the diagnosis?
PIP is about what you can/can't do rather than having a label of say 'asthma' etc. However having a GP report to confirm a diagnosis will add weight to your application. So if you have the report or can get one, send it in ASAP to support your claim. Or you can simply write a letter confirming your diagnosis. I am sure it won't be too late as DWP have big delays at present, but don't wait too long!
I hope this helps.
