Evening. I do not know where to place this. Hope its ok to be here.
My step father is 77. he suffers with a bad back and has very bad knees. This affects his mobility.
He cares for my mother, but I feel he needs to slow it down and maybe get help himself. One thing that will help him out is a blue badge as the car they have is through my mothers claim. and she holds a blue badge. so he cannot use this if he is out in the car by himself.
Your step father can apply to his local authority for his own blue badge.
This can be done on-line. He will need various personal details and a means of uploading a passport style photo plus evidence of his disability.
I don’t know what benefits, if any, your mother claims or indeed whether your step father is claiming for any benefits. They may both be eligible for attendance allowance.
I hope this helps
Regards Pete
