Telephone assessments if you are deaf or HOH was created by Rambling Ted
Hi ,
Im changing over from DLA to Pip and have received a message from the IAS saying I have a telephone assessment in two weeks time. I was hoping for a face to face as I cant hear on the phone . the centre is half an hour away.

My OH takes my calls , he says what they said and repeats my answer. but seeing as the assessment could last two hours I would prefer to take the call on my relay text phone. The operator types in what they say and I type the answer back.

I need to let them know I want to use the textphone and to tell them they have to dial 18002 first to get a relay opperator. I hope they will let me do this.

Who would I have to contact to tell them , the DWP or should I go directly to the IAS ?

Thanks

Hi Rambling Ted

I would call both the DWP and the IAS purely to ensure the message gets through.

Regards
Pete
