PIP - evidence that conditions unchanged

I understand that in a PIP review submission, you should try to explain & evidence everything as if it were a new claim. I have already submitted mine 6 months ago, yet to hear back. Anyway -

In my case, some conditions are unchanged, and I don't have any evidence to show that they are unchanged, only the evidence I have already submitted to show I have the conditions and/or their impact.

In some cases I can provide a prescription to evidence treatment is the same, but in others I have had no medical appointments or ongoing treatment as they are not expected to change or do not have medical treatment. Another condition is unchanged, and I am awaiting a medical appointment but due to the pandemic and the complexity of CCG funding specialist treatment outside of your own area, I have been waiting for several years.

If I provide the most up to date relevant medical evidence I have (not knowingly withholding anything from DWP) is that all I can do to demonstrate when conditions are unchanged?

I feel it would be unreasonable, but nonetheless I am still fearful of the DWP asking for evidence within a certain time period (e.g. past 12 months) to prove a condition is unchanged. Is something the DWP can and may do?

Thanks

Hi Egrion

I understand you being concerned, but you can only provide evidence that you have. If your condition is unchanged then you will refer to the evidence already provided. If you have any new evidence you will flag that up. Try not to overthink it. Just because you are no longer having treatment for a particular condition doesn't mean you don't have ongoing problems. Many people get discharged from a particular service because nothing more can be done and they are expected to manage it themselves. Reasonable assessors understand this. You can only do your best with what you have.

Hi Egrion, to add to BIS's sound advice, what you can do to provide up to date evidence is DIY. This is to write a diary showing how your conditions affect the daily living and mobility activities listed in the Guides. [for instance no point saying you can't do the cleaning as this is not listed]. There are examples and a template in the Guide. The latest diary was heavily relied on each time by assessors for our daughter three times over.
Just remember to put name and NI No at top of each page and number them. If you struggle it can even be done by a third party. I did this last time by attempting to phone her almost daily and logging 'no replies' as evidence of chronic fatigue syndrome etc. and failure to remember what I had previously told her, things like that.
best wishes,
Denby
