Housing priority questionnaire was created by Marvel2017
I realise this isn't strictly benefits & work but wanted to point out what a minefield this stuff is after 20 years on the social housing list I was removed without notice as I'm suitably housed. This is despite years of trying to use a system that didn't work properly.
Now I know I'm fortunate that I do have a home ( thank the good lord) but I'm struggling die to medical reasons in the home I'm in. It's private rent ( a very low private rent) & to downsize privately my rent would go up a great deal.
So after 2 years of being told my consultant has to complete my medical questionnaire, I've been advised today that I can do it but must provide a consultant supporting letter ( not gp)
So having printed the 8 page document it's quite a doozy & wondered if anyone had any experience of doing this, as I'm totally lost regarding it!
Any help is appreciated or a point in the right direction thanks in advance.

Morning. You can get housing help if you have a medical need for rehousing. You should contact ‘Housing Advice’ and have a chat with them. They do not count economics as a priority. Mention that you were previously on the housing list.

Personally I would research Social Housing in the areas that you want to live. The Council have a list, but some Housing Associations have their own lists too. Apply to ALL of the ones that are suitable. If they are near relatives/ friends mention these on your application also. Say you need to be close for support.

*Make sure you make many photocopies of your Consultant’s letter and include with all applications*. Shelter have a helpline if you need any help. A ‘short wait’ is 12 months.
