Hi Gary,

thanks for your very helpful answer.

Would a Lifetime ISA count towards the savings limit in income-related benefits (i.e. is that also capital held as an annuity or in trust or is it different to an occupational pension in that way?)

Many thanks,
Chloe

Hi LittleChloe

I would recommend that you seek help from a specialist Welfare Rights Organisation who can take all your information into consideration such as lifetime ISA. An ISA is usually classed as savings but if it is in a Trust, depending on why the Trust was set up then the answer may be different. We cannot advise you as it is beyond the scope of the forum.

You can find your local Welfare Rights Organisation to help you with advice by clicking on the link below and putting in your post code, it will then come up with a MAP with a list of agencies. advicelocal.uk

I believe the bible for all things related to Capital is; assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/governm.../1063463/dmgch52.pdf

Not an easy read, but if you want to dive deeper into this that is where I would start.
