Hi Denby,

thanks so much for your reply which I've only just seen. I'm new to navigating the forum and looked to see if I had replies but I hadn't seen them until now!

Your reply does make sense and I agree it's unclear. Which is making finding the answer to this question even harder!

The context of that paragraph makes it sound more like it refers to contributions TO the pension from the employer as it seems to sit within a paragrpah about what does and doesn't consitute earnings from an employer (section 80 in that document) but I'm not 100% sure!

I believe that payments FROM a pension TO the claimant are fully included when assessing income for ESA-IR.

Any other thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks a lot,
Chloe

Hi LittleChloe

You are correct, payment from a pension are fully taken into account if you are in receipt of IR ESA.

Morning, It’s a while since I did permitted work. I personally would not tie yourself in a knot. I always made sure I was ‘safely’ under the annual limit. A P60 will be sent to you every year.

2022/23 [higher permitted work limit] will be £152 a week. £7904 per year. If you are nervous aim for £150 per week which is £7800 per year. That will cover you I am sure..

The reality is the DWP won’t have a clue about this…
