ESA new request for medical evidence was created by ozark1
Hi, I have been on ESA new style/contribution since October 2020. I am on the Support Group. Out of the blue DWP have now written to me asking for a new sick note stating my current sick note runs out in 7 days and I need a new one. Is this correct as I thought after my medical assessment med certs were nolonger required

Hi ozark1
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is.
Welcome to Benefits and Work
Usually you receive a letter from DWP stating you no longer need to send in further 'fit notes'
if you have not received this letter then I would contact DWP to check if you need to send in a fit note as you have been placed in the support group.

Hi. I would also book an appointment to see your GP so that you are covered. *Only ask for a ‘fit note’ though if the DWP request one (and you have confirmed this with a telephone call to them)*. Just say to your GP that you would like a review with them; that way your meeting and things discussed are in your medical notes.
* A GP told me once that sending in a ‘fit note’ can start off a DWP Review. So make sure you actually need one…
