Your savings limit goes up to 10K when you are a pensioner (currently 6K if you are on ESA). There are many ‘benefit calculators’ online so you can work out how much you will get, and what you will be entitled to. Also found this on gov.uk:

Reduced Earnings Allowance will be replaced by another benefit called Retirement Allowance if both the following apply:
* you reach State Pension age
* you’re not in regular employment
