Extra PIP Payment? was created by Peter J
I took the DLA / PIP assessment on here and my results show that i should be on a higher rate and get more money than i do now. My question is, would i have to re-claim? or if i informed them would they change it? Also, if my living circumstances change, like they recently have. I'm now living on my own. Do i have to inform them?

Hi Peter J
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is.
Welcome to Benefits and Work
If you report a Change then you should do so in writing as the date of your letter will be used to set the start date of any new award, Ideally, send it using a Track'd post so that you have proof of delivery.
Before you report a Change you should be certain that you would reasonably qualify for a higher award, not all deterioration or even new conditions will result in you scoring the points you need for a higher award. See our PIP Claims guide for the criteria that you will need to make. www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claim...pip/pip-claims-guide
If you report a Change then you will be sent a new PIP2 to complete and it is almost certain that you will be required to have some sort of assessment.
Living on your own will not affect your PIP claim, if you are receiving a means tested benefit such as IR ESA, Housing Benefit ... etc etc then you will need to notify DWP.
I would advise you to seek help from your local Welfare Rights Organisation where they can check you are receiving all your benefit entitlements; You can find your local Welfare Rights Organisation to help you with advice by clicking on the link below and putting in your post code, it will then come up with a MAP with a list of agencies. advicelocal.uk

Hi Gary, and thank you for the advice.
I'm all up in the air at the moment, as i've just sadly recently lost my mother who i was living with, and i'm in the process of trying to get succession of tenancy. So i'm not in a position just yet to see what my benefit situation will be until i know my housing situation. At the moment i haven't contacted any benefit agency, only the council / housing association.

Hi Peter J
Sorry to hear the news that you recently lost your mother.
Before you do anything in haste seek independant advice from Shelter who will be able to advise you of your rights in regards to succession rights; england.shelter.org.uk/get_help
