I am in receipt of Contribution Based ESA
My Husband has recently started receiving an armed forces pension. Will this affect my ESA payments? I have looked for hours on the internet trying to find the answer, but the information seems to relate to Income related ESA when mentioning a spouses pension and I know the rules are different for Contribution based. Thank you in advance.

Hi Mim369

Welcome back to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is.

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In answer to your question, as you are in receipt of CB ESA and not IR ESA then your husbands army pension will not affect your CB ESA.

Unlike means-tested benefits, there is no income and savings test for contributory ESA. If on the otherhand you received a private/company pension/permanent health insurance payment, your contributory ESA would be reduced by half the amount of any pension or permanent health insurance payment you received in excess of £85.
