I’ve been awarded points for needing prompting to dress, even though I didn’t put that on application. Is this normal? Will those points be remived by decision maker? I have seen the report but know that a decision has not yet been made.

Hi Shaisum

It does sometimes happen that people are awarded points for a descriptor they didn't ask for. The Decision-Maker may then agree with the assessor or not agree. Mostly they agree. Sometimes it happens that in the assessor's opinion based on evidence and the assessment that a claimant should be rewarded certain points regardless of whether they asked for them. This is good because sometimes people don't realise that they are eligible for them.

Hi Shaisum,

This has happened to me - and I think more than once.

I've scored on descriptors I have never even mentioned on the original form, and more so, had points taken off me for ones I really should have scored on.

Call it swings and roundabouts , if you like, but if your overall award is what you anticpated then think nothing of it.

Regards,

Phrank.
