PIP renewal was created by Milish
Hi all,

I joined the forum when I made my first claim for PIP November 2020. I have enjoyed reading all the posts and love the support you give everyone. I received my PIP renewal form on Wednesday and it has to be returned by 1st May. I will be checking all the guides but have to admit I am feeling very anxious and nervous! Lovely to know you lovely people are on hand if I need help. Good luck to all. xx

Hi Milish

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is.

Welcome to Benefits and Work

Thank you for your lovely comments.

The way to complete a PIP review form is to treat it as a new claim. You need to go to page 128 on the PIP guide to find details on the review.

A pip 1043 form is another name for an AR1 short review form, it should still say AR1 at the bottom left of each page. Its best to treat all reviews as you would a new claim.

If nothing has changed since your previous pip assessment, its best to explain in detail what has changed and what has stayed the same and how you’re finding each task.

If you have an up to date review of your treatment, therapy and medication it could be helpful to include this also.

It is perfectly OK for you to type your answers and attach them as extra pages to the form, just make sure that each page has your full name and NIN at the top and that they are numbered, we recommend "page X of Y" so that it is easy to see if pages are missing. Make sure you clearly mark on the form where your answers are and on the relevant page that you are answering question X.

I would not split your answers across the form and attached pages, do one or the other for each activity (not question), splitting it risks the second part of your answer not being read.

Attach the pages to the back of the form using a staple or make a hole in the top left corner and use a treasury tag, string or ribbon to the form. The pages need to be easily detached so that they can be scanned by the DWP.

If you feel you do not have enough time to complete this form you should be able to arrange an extension by calling the DWP and explain that you need a bit extra time.

I hope all goes smoothly for you, try and fill in the form over a few days and take plenty of breaks, from previous experience I know this can be very stressful attempting filling the form all in one go.

Hi Milish I am in the same situation as you - need to return my form by 15th May - (it was originally sent January but never received and after letters and phone calls they sent another one as they closed my file)
I re joined and have spent last few days reading the guides and there is stuff I did not even think about - a lot to take in
Good luck xx

Hi Shrimp, I have spent the weekend completing my form. I am feeling very nervous but have done the best I can. I will be getting my partner to post it by registered post on Wednesday to make sure it is back by 1st May. I was getting more confused the more I read. Good luck to you too and do let me know how you get on too. xx

Hi Gary,
I received a text message yesterday from DWP saying-
We still have your pip form and will be progressing your review as soon as we can.You may still need an assessment with a health professional. Your pip will continued to be paid untilwe review your claim. You only need to contact us if your circumstances change.
My award ended this month. I am currently awaiting further tests for additional health issues I have. I am just wondering if anyone else has had this text and what type of timelines it was when they were contacted?
I do appreciate every area will be different. I was hoping to have some updates on my condition before they contacted me. It just seems to be hanging over me for so long. Plus I am 65 in January and worry they could give me zero points and cut me off before I am pension age at 66 yrs. I currently get lower rate daily allowance and higher rate mobility.

Thank you for any advise.
