WCA was created by Andrew
Hi i suffer from depression & anxiety after losing my job, my house and being made homeless. I have been waiting a year for my WCA, i informed CHDA that i will struggle with a telephone assessment because of my condition and the psychological stress this will put on me, i have also sent them numerous medical evidence, stuff from GP, community health, personal references, PIP GP form as well as fit notes for a year and they keep saying they dont have enough information to do a written assessment, which i requested and insist i have to go through this medical despite everything i have sent, i sent them a copy of how my disability affects my health template, signed and stamped by my GP, i also wrote out a personal statement outlining the history, how it has escalated and the effect of COVID/lockdowns, how my condition affects me and stops me from working at this present moment and the fact i am technically homeless, fighting to get rehoused and looking into counselling/CBT therapy to help me manage my thoughts, feelings & emotions and try to recover from this illness. However they dont seem to take anything into consideration whatsoever other than getting you to do a telephone assessment with one of their health professionals, despite requesting a written assessment and telling them the affects this will have on my stress levels as i try to find a way forward to get help & support whilst i battle this, they also never give an answer when u question them about why they dont have enough information or what information they require, anyone had anything like this? any advice would greatly be appreciated
Thanks

Hi Andrew
There is a member on this forum who will never give DWP their phone number, with the help of their MP have had paper assessments.
You may want to ask your MP to get involved, especially if your doctor supports your claim and if you have a psychiatrist and they also support your claim.

Hi Andrew,
I have supported a friend in a similar situation to you apart from the homelessness. When her phone call came through I introduced myself in a formal way explaining that I am there to support her. She also got it recorded, -you should tell them in advance you want it recorded.
If you can find anyone to support you like this, perhaps from community health or the housing support dept, a local church or other religious place it sends them a warning not to abuse you as you have a witness and a recording. Hope that may help if they do force you to go through with it on the phone.
Also I do not know just how bad your mental health is, don't hesitate to call Samaritans 116 123, if you need to talk and let your GP know if the ESA pressure makes you feel driven to hurting yourself in any way.
Best wishes,
Denby
