Post assessment was created by lauren
So I got through my Video assessment. Virtually clamped down with anxiety and didnt say half I wanted to say or forgot to say etc (memory issues). The woman seemed fair but firm but was definitely trying to trip me up by reasking me the same questions a few minutes later..
It tool 2 hrs and 15mins.
My question is I received a text this morning saying the dwp have received the assessors report and when a decision is made they will let me know with in 8 weeks.Does this mean they may need more information before they can make a decision? I have heard that some people get texts to say they have all the info they need to make a decision?? I feel I couldnt cope with more questions.
Sorry this is so rushed cant sleep or stop thinking about it x

Hi lauren
No it does not. You have received a standard reply from DWP, due to a backlog it can take 8 weeks plus before you receive a decision, which gives you time to correct anything that is wrong in the assessors report
Whilst waiting for a decision you should contact DWP and ask for a copy of the assessors report called a PA4. Once you get the report go through it with a highlighter, highlighting any inaccuracies.
There is a small window for you to write to the Decision Maker but you will need to be quick.
Understand that the assessor is offering an opinion when they say that you can do the PIP activities, tackling these head-on is unlikely to be successful, you need to show that the basis of that opinion is founded on incorrect information, so try and refer to your evidence to undermine what they have said.
Also, try and stick to issues that lead to your scoring points, I often hear members referring to the assessors spelling, as an example, whilst it may show a lack of professionalism, raising it as an issue isn't going to help you get an award.
Lastly, make sure that you understand the criteria that you are being assessed against you can put the best case forward that is possible but you won't score points if you do not meet the PIP Descriptors.
Make sure that your letter makes it clear that you are not requesting a Mandatory Reconsideration but you reserve the right to do so once a Decision has been made.

Hi lauren
Once you ask for the PA4 it should only take a few days, sometimes the call centre worker states that you have to wait for a decision before you can ask for a copy of the assessors report, for PIP this is incorrect.
If the CCW states this either ask to speak to their line manager or put the phone down and ring again, hopefully next time you get to speak to someone who knows what they are talking about.
Good luck
