Hello, this is my first post, as only joined recently,

I hope someone can help me with this, as am totally confused.

I’m about to fill my first PIP application but hesitate as am currently on the Legacy Benefits, WTC with disability element that I had since 2005.
While reading the PIP2 form I noticed on the page 42 that the DWP “may investigate” all other benefits such as tax credits amongst others, etc.
What does it means?
Will my tax credit be stopped if I apply for PIP?
or will my disability element of the WTC be stopped or “investigated” ?

Sorry totally confused what to expect, esp that I dont expect to get much PIP if anything at all after reading other people’s stories in similar circumstances, so am wondering if it's worth the hassle.
Can someone please clarify the situation for me?

Many thanks in advance,

Jolie

Hi Julie

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is. www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum

Your Tax Credits will not stop if you apply for PIP, usually to get the disabled worker element , you must meet one of the seven conditions.

Are you in receipt of DLA or do you have a partner in receipt of DLA/PIP?

I would advise you to seek advice from your local Welfare Rights Organisation who can take all your circumstances into consideration.; advicelocal.uk lawcentres.org
