"Other Benefits Affecting Your UC" was created by KEVIN
Is there anyone who could please help with this matter .07/05/2022. The DWP keeps sending my wife and I notifications via our UC Journal of “Other Benefits Affecting Your universal Credit” with no explanation, other than to contact the Jobcentre which originally handled our claims and signed with and tell them that we are on UC, which we have been since the very start of our joint claim for UC. My wife gets Pip, EESA, Carers allowance which is what she was awarded from day one with Universal Credit. This is clearly written in letters sent to my wife such as statements with regards to EESA from the DWP.

I should have received the carers allowance but they awarded it to her, it makes no odds as to the general set up . I receive only basic PIP.

My wife does have a job which is being kept open in the event that she recovers from her illnesses, my wife is in possession of a letter from her employers to the fact that her job would be kept open for the duration of her illness and recuperation, a copy of which was delivered to the DWP in our local branch on the outset of our claim by ourselves and a copy was sent to the head office via recorded delivery.

In the event of us having to contact our local DWP office and report this, what would be the possible outcome for us as far as our money situation. Would we be better off or find ourselves worse off financially? We are finding this very stressful and as we stated earlier nothing has changed with regards to circumstances and these are all things they have been given us from day one.

Hi KG

Welcome to the forum.

You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum

Do you know that your personal details are showing. You can change your forum name on the site. To do so, log into the site and click on the ‘My Profile’ link on the ‘Account’ page

or follow this link: www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/my-profile

Click on the Edit Profile button.

You are not able to change your Login/Username that can only be changed from this end. Please contact us if you wish to have this changed.

I would contact the UC helpline and ask (0800328 5644/9344/5646)

I cannot tell you if you would be better off as we do not have all your detail, I would either contact your local Welfare Rights Organisation; advicelocal.uk or use an online benefit checker; gov.uk/benefits-calculators
