Happy Update - 3 weeks and DWP still not received IAS medical report

Hi, everyone.

I had my PIP medical just over 3 weeks ago.
When I rang DWP they said that they had still not received the medical report.
They said that I should ring IAS. I am worried IAS might ask me about
my condition again if I do. Are they in their rights to do so?
Can't face another barrage of questioning.
Hope you can help.
Thanks.

Hi Sunshine569

I'm not sure why the DWP think it is your responsibility to phone them. However, you could phone and ask. No, they should not ask you any further questions. Remind IAS that your form should have been sent to the DWP within 48 hours - so they have some explaining to do. When you finally find out what has happened you may want to put in a complaint, particularly if the report is not accurate. I hope that will not be the case, but if it isn't you could do what another member here did and complain that the assessor could not possibly have remembered anything about you three weeks after the assessment took place.

Good luck

Big thanks for your prompt reply, BIS.
Will get on the case once I have worked up the energy.

Quick update - I rang IAS today. The call handler said my over 3 week old medical report
is going through an internal process. This process will take as long as it takes.
When IAS are ready they will send it to the DWP who will text me to say
that they have it.
More waiting!

Hi Sunshine569

Some forms do get internally audited, but in my view, it is not good enough to say that the process will take as long as it takes and they should have informed the DWP. Definitely, something you can complain about at a later date if you have the energy or inclination.

Hi Sunshine569
I had my PIP telephone assessment on Monday 09 May.

I was surprised to receive a text from DWP today, 26 May, advising that they have received my assessors report (assuming only today) and to allow up to 8 weeks to receive their decision!

I do not think that this is reasonable, fair or acceptable!

Moderators, do you feel that I have course to complain?

Would a request for my PA4 form, when received, indicate the level of PIP entitlement that I could expect to receive?

Good luck sunshine569!
