Renewing PIP for my son who has autism was created by Kitkat2
Hello all.
I have been sent a form on my sons behalf as I am his appointee and guardian. It is a form for PIP reviewing his award.
I have had a quick look through the guides and info and don't see anything to help with filling in the forms for someone with Autism. Could someone please point me in the right direction of where to look please on the site. We last had a review four years ago and the forms appear to have changed. Last time he got reviewed it was a nightmare and it took a long time to sort. My son has high functioning autism but suffers terribly with anxiety. He does work but needs lots of support . We live in Scotland and I was under the impression that the Scottish government was taking over the PIP benefit this year but the renewal form has come from Belfast so I presume this has not happened yet. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated as I am dreading the process as previous times have been very stressful and anxiety provoking.
Thank you

Hi Kitkat2
The guide we have covers the whole range of disabilities, I believe there is a day diary for autism.
I am not sure when the changes come in for Scotland, I am sure members on this forum will tell you.
The PIP form has changed slightly from January last year, we do have a new guide which takes these changes into account. benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/pip
If you have up to date supporting documents that will help with his claim, you can also write a supporting letter highlighting what support you give and why, the why is the important part of the letter.
