Hi everybody,

I am hoping someone could provide me with some guidance or clarity,

I made a claim for my sister last year in February 2021, we had an assessment in August 2021 and were than awarded the daily living enhanced rate and mobility standard rate she suffers from mental health issues, OCD, anxiety and depression, sciatica and back issues which affect her ability so we did a mandatory reconsideration as we were not happy with the standard rate they had scored her incorrect so we went to tribunal and they reviewed her award and offered her enhance for both until August 2024 the tribunal ended in January 2022 so fast forward now six months later she has just received a text that she will have a telephone consultation this month,

this has obviously sent her in panic mode we are all trying to calm her down but nothing seems to be working as yet and I do not want to go through the hassle that we did to get PIP in the first place so would anyone know why we have a consultation so soon and what it’s going to be like? what will we be asked?

Any help would be appreciated

Thank you

Hi Ifra

The DWP has the right to review someone at any time, but this is extraordinarily early. I would ring the DWP and ask why she is having a telephone consultation and has not been given the chance to submit any kind of review form. Also, you will be able to confirm that it is a genuine text. The DWP is supposed to give 7 days notice of an assessment.
