I've had to phone the DWP a few times over the last year, and every time it has taken exactly 45 mins before I actually got to speak to someone. It seems to me that this is more than a coincidence. Has anyone else found this?
If you are referring to the PIP helpline; yes that's about right in my many experiences over the last few years.
It seems so consistent it sometimes makes me wonder if someone is sitting at the other end of the line with a stopwatch timing my time on hold and deciding the appropriate time to answer.
Of course, it could be my imagination but 45 minutes is not out of the ordinary.
It seems to be answered much quicker if you phone first thing in a morning. I have waited as little as 12 minutes when ringing around 9 am. Hope that helps.
