Refused PIP in 2017 was created by Lolly
My son was refused pip when he was 17, his conditions are still the same today as they were back then, he has been assessed by DWP work capability and has been told he does not have to look for work or work related activity due to his mental health conditions. My question is should I look into the fact he was denied PIP but has clearly got health conditions that warrant him having it or should i just do a new claim for him?
Thanks in advance

Hi Lolly,

My thoughts are you should submit a new claim ASAP because the sooner you submit, if it is awarded it will be backdated to the date you made the claim.

If you want to separately challenge the original decision you could try to do that once you have put in the new claim.

I wish you luck with both but frankly I don’t hold out much hope for challenging the original decision.

Regards
Pete
