Hi shezza

You are allowed breaks in care. Carers allowance is payable for up to four weeks in any 26 week period for temporary breaks in care - eg a holiday or short-term stay in a care home for the person you look after. This can be in one spell or a series of short breaks.

The period can be extended to up to 12 weeks in any 26 week period, as long as you or the person you look afterspend at least eight of these weeks in hospital.

I would advise you to seek help from your local Welfare Rights Organisation; advicelocal.uk
