New diagnosis but already in receipt of pip was created by karenwb9
Hi all
I have recently been given a diagnosis of endometrial cancer prior to this diagnosis I had my claim reviewed and was given a further 4 years enhanced on both components. Do i now need to inform the DWP of this new change of circumstance or can i wait until my next review?
Bit confused, if i let them know, its not going to increase anything.

Hi Karen
I am sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I hope that it can be treated.
To answer your question, my view is that you probably should inform the DWP of the change. You are required to inform them of any change so I think an additional diagnosis would be just as reportable as recovering from a diagnosis.
I hope this helps
Regards
Pete

Forgive me for jumping in.
The Mods cannot tell you not to contact the DWP when there has been a change potentially affecting the claimant's entitlement, however, you appear to be saying that at the least there has been no improvement and possibly that you are worse.
The DWP are not usually bothered when a claimant fails to notify them of a deterioration and as you already have the highest award there is no obvious benefit to you doing so.
Be aware, if you do notify the DWP of a Change then by far and away the most likely outcome will be a full reassessment of your claim, a new PIP2 and almost certainly an assessment.

I’d keep copies of all your paperwork so you have it for your next review; I wouldn’t inform them as you already have Enhanced Both.

Hello Karen.
I know it's been a little while since your question. Since you already receive the enhanced rate for both components, these rates can not be increased further by the DWP. As Gordon has pointed out, if you opt to notify the DWP of your 'Change' in health, they are more likely than not, to treat this as a 'Change in Circumstances' which may trigger a full reassessment of your PIP.
Wishing you well
Sue
