I am thinking of getting some daily living aids that I know need for my disability it will not affect the level of my award I’m already get enhanced but if I ask for these aids will it mean I’m moved from legacy benefits to universal credits. If so is there anyway of getting round this

Hi Gail
You say in your post you have an enhanced award so I presume you're talking about PIP? Getting aids will not affect any of your benefits and certainly not ESA.

Hi Gail
PIP is not awarded because of the condition but rather the limitations that result and prevent a claimant from completing a range of everyday activities. If you buy an aid to help you with everyday activities, then good for you.

Hello Gail. I’m unaware that you have to advise any agencies that “You are thinking of getting some daily living aids” therefore it should not trigger a move from one benefit to another.
