Contradictory ESA rate forms sent out the same day.Help

Hello, I am on contribution-based ESA in the support group Every year I have a letter requesting the new amount of Occupational pension I get. I send it back telling them to contact the pension provider ( I do this because I get confused by the pension providers notice)
I have reieved 2 letters from DWP, dated 17th June, which arrived the same day. In short one states that my ESA will not change as it never does. The other notice says my ESA will go down by about 26 pounds a week. As my esa is not means tested I thought they had made a mistake but on Saturday when my benefit went in it was for the lower amount.

What should I do? and have you heard of this happening to anyone else.

Hello, Thanks for the reply. I have been on continuous benefit from 1995 Invalidity benefit, incapacity benefit and then conributory ESA and have never had any deductions from my benefit re. occupational pension because i was covered under transitional protection. This year they have issued 2 letters both dated 17th june 1st letter was as i expected no deductions 2nd letter said i had about 25 pounds deducted. I rang the call centre on wednesday and they could see a mistake had been made. They sent the info to the esa dwp office and a voice mail left today curtly tells me the deduction because of Occupational pension is correct. have the rules changed regarding protection. It is a mistake. Please advise. thanks
