Changes to PIP law and first tribunal decisions. was created by bernadette Ann
Good Morning,

I recently received a letter from the personal Independence payment department, regarding
changes in PIP law and first-tier Tribunal decisions.

Please can you give me some further information in regards to this, I don't know what that means for me, there was a period when my pip got stopped but than restated via a appeal tribunal. I was receiving enhanced PIP than it got stopped after a medical than after appeal the lowest care part, I think 4 points of mobility, I suffer with severe depression and also have mobility problems. I know get enhance pip for care and mobility but there was a time I only got the care component.

My son has mental health problems, and at one point was getting enhanced pip than got lowered to the full care award, he needs support with travelling. He hasn't received one of these letters ?

If a person is entitled to back pay would they do this automatically or do you have to apply to the pip?

Most Kindest Regards,

Bernadette.

Hi bernadette Ann

Without seeing the letter we are unable to answer your question. We would advise you and your son to seek advice from your local Welfare Rights Organisation, who will be able to look at your letter and advise you accordingly.

You can find your local Welfare Rights Organisation to help you with advice by clicking on the link below and putting in your post code, it will then come up with a MAP with a list of agencies. advicelocal.uk
