Legacy Benefits was created by petrocelli
Hi all

Forgive my naivety, but could someone please explain precisely which benefits come under the banner of 'LEGACY BENEFITS'. When mentioning ESA please state whether Contribution based or Income Related...................does it refer to the MEANS TESTED benefits?

Kindest of regards

Hi petrocelli

Universal Credit is replacing 6 benefits called ‘legacy benefits’. These are:

Housing Benefit

income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)

Child Tax Credits (CTC)

Working Tax Credits (WTC)

Income Support

You can’t usually make a new claim for these benefits.

Yes, legacy benefits refer to means tested benefits
