Hi Bryando,
To score points for any particular descriptor you need to show that you can not do the activity
Safely
In a reasonable time
To an acceptable standard
Repeatedly
For the majority of days during the requiredperiod which for new claims is 3 months before claim and 9 months after. The 3 mths before are waived if it is a renewal claim. All of the 4 criteria cited above must apply.
The repetition rule says that you have to be able to repeat across the day as reasonably required. So food prep might be say 2 or 3 times. Toilet needs could be say 8 times per day, but more if you have incontinence. However communication could be 24/7. If you can't repeat fir the whole day when it is reasonably required as long as it is not just a trivial time, you should score points.
So if you have periods of no illness ( or little effect) for a week or two then several months of debilitating this would fall within the 50% rule.It would be the same if you had one or two better days per week. Remembet that if you can't 'repeat' then that will comprise one of the days yo count towards the 50%.
Remember too that if you can't manage 50% on just one descriptor in a section you can aggregate two or more if that will get you over the 50%, then you will score the points for the most prevalent descriptor value.
If you check out the members guides ot will explain more about the 4 criteria often abbreviated to 'reliably" . If you are not safe eg burn self whilst cooking, slip over in bathroom etc or are too slow, ie take twice the normal time for non disabled people, can't get to acceptable standard eg burnt food, spilling food whilst eating or dropping plates, not wiping self properly after using the toilet etc this can also include being in a lot pain, or not repeating as explained above then you shoukd score if this happens fir the majority of days.
I hope this helps.
