PIP Review Award From was created by helpme
Hi. I have received a PIP Review Award Form to complete. Under the section about what supporting information you can send with the form, it says that it is OK to send "reports or care or treatment plans" from a GP. However it also says under the "What Not to send" section, do not send "a supporting letter from your GP". Please could you explain the difference? Thank you.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi helpme
This is 'DWP' speak. What they mean is they don't want a letter that says "This person should be awarded PIP." Should you include a letter from your GP that confirms your diagnosis, difficulties and any other relevant information? Yes, if you can get one because you can reference the letter throughout your evidence. Don't panic if you can't get a letter. Some GPs are not helpful and some write letters that are poor or even damaging. Include any useful information that you already have.

Hi helpme,
....Just to echo what BIS has said. Include anything you feel is relevant, anything!
A classic example was my last but one review. The decision letter said that the GP supporting letter had had an influence on their decision.
Not word for word (i really don't want to route my letter out) but words to that effect.
Regards,
Phrank.
