How long to hear result from PIP review?

Somewhat miraculously i managed to get everything filled & in & appropriate supporting evidence sent of by the deadline, sent it signed for so i know it arrived.

I know there are no guarantees but am wondering if there is any idea of how long it would be before i hear anything, particularly before they might call me for an assessment if they chose to pass my case on to capita. There have been no changes & the GP letter says those exact words, and i've filled in the form following the B&W guide closely.... so i'm hoping there wont be a reassessment, but they're unpredictable so am a bit scared they might.

I'm particularly concerned because my main carer has to go off for the whole of august... so am hoping it would be unlikely to be called for it that soon?

So i realise you cant say for sure, but if i could just get a rough sense of what you would expect/be surprised by - eg if you'd be surprised if i heard anything within X weeks of sending it in.

thanks

Hi Cemily

I'm sorry, it's impossible for us to give you any accurate indication. Before the pandemic, we could give fairly accurate timescales but not anymore. Some people hear within four to six weeks (sometimes less), and some people haven't heard in five or six months. We don't know what is causing the variations other than backlog and continued sickness or the availability of assessors.

I'm sorry I can't give you more information.

Hi Cemily,

Just for info, my daughter sent her review form back at begining of February. Heard nothing until last week when they just sent a text saying something like " we still have your review form and you may still have to have a F2F or telephone assesment". so review sent back 6 months ago, still not looked at. It ends Septemeber, but they will still pay her until an assesment/review has been done.

just letting you know that it can be ages before you hear anything so not to worry.

Good luck

Hi all,

Ive been waiting 15 months for my PIP review.

I hope it continues just waiting, as i at least get my PIP paid.

And if my rates go up, then a nice backdated PIP payments will be more than welcome to land into my bank account lols.

Regards and good luck to all.

I’ve been waiting for them to reply to my renewal form sent in June 21. I rang a couple of months ago and was told it’s all been passed to medical assessors . So the wait continues

Hi Cemily, If for any reason you get called for an assessment in August, I would just tell them that it is not possible for you to attend without your carer, and ask for a different date. This is a ‘reasonable adjustment’ under the Equality Act. They have to comply as they are funded out of the ‘public purse’. Throwing legislation at them always helps x
