Hi Pauls1

Yes, it does sometimes happen like that. You should get a confirmation letter in the post.

Yeah I got a confirmation letter as well but just confused in case they decide they are not going to give it after the interview ....and whether I still need to fill in the paperwork ...

As this is a new claim for NS ESA you are receiving the Assessment rate while you wait for an assessment.

If you do not return the ESA50 form then you will be treated as being Fit for Work and your ESA claim will be closed. So yes, you need to complete the form and return it using the B&W guide.

If you are found Fit for Work following a Decision on your claim then your ESA claim will be closed but you can ask for a Mandatory Reconsideration or even an appeal.

If you are found to have Limited Capability for Work (LCW) then the Assessment payment will be converted to the Personal Allowance which is paid at the same rate. Be aware, this is only payable for 365 days from the date you made the claim

If you are found to have Limited Capability for Work Related Activity (LCWRA) then the Assessment payment will be converted to the Personal Allowance and you will also receive a Support Group payment. This is payable indefinitely providing you continue to meet the criteria when reassessed.
