Akward question from DWAP_ESA was created by Onka
Good day, Everybody, I am a newbie here and I am seeking some support, please. I have a bit strange situation and I do hope someone here could give me a clue how to react, what to do.
A few days ago I have received a bit akward telephone call and next a form to fill in from ESA. I have been receiving this benefit for over two years (together with PIP) and now they ask me if I remember, what data/info I gave them about myself and my incomes when claiming in 2019. I was quite surpsised to hear that question and simply did not know what to answer, as I honestly cant remeber either the questions nor my answers. When I told that to the lady, then she started asking questions about my adult son- if I informed them that he lives with me, whether he was working that time etc- of course, I did. And why should I? Then she asked me if I am still self employed- yes, offcially I am, but not working. So she sent me a form including two questions: 1.could you tell us the start and the end date of your self employment 2.could you tell us how and when you notified ESA about the self employment. PLus requirement: could you send us all your earnings/income from selfemployment from 2019 to date.
It seems like they lost part of my data, or just someone did not perfomr their job properly at that time- anyway, I feel strange with that, and dont know what toexpect. I told them all the truth about my situation, but if they screwed that up and now will chase me up for something- I might get in trouble. What do you think, folks? Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Hi Onka
Welcome to the forum.
You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum
Yes I can understand why you said it was a strange one. I would suggest that you contact your local Welfare Rights Organisation who can take all your circumstances into consideration, you can find your local Welfare Rights Organisation to help you with advice by clicking on the link below and putting in your post code, it will then come up with a MAP with a list of agencies. advicelocal.uk
