Hi terdun9

You need to seek advice from your local Welfare Rights Organisation as stated in my previous post, failing that contact your local MP for help.

GOOD EVENING Everyone; well i got a reply from the DWP via my local MP
On 30 January 2023 we raised the issue with our specialist agent support team to look at why our UC system was failing to consider the Carers Allowance award. I can confirm that this issue has been fixed and UC service has now considered Carers Allowance in respect of these two APs. I must advise this
generated a new overpayment of £592.12, in respect of the AP’s ending 25 December 2022 and 25 January 2023.Although, an administrative error, the overpayment amount is still
recoverable under current UC legislation and as we don`t receive a cash award only have our rent paid and are in

financial hardship due to the overpayment amount, we are able to contact Debt Management and arrange a payment plan with them. how would this happen will they take it out of our rent allowance? Also we have this at the bottom of the letter.
In recognition of the technical error which caused us not to consider Mrs...... Carers Allowance, I have awarded a special payment of £75 for the inconvenience caused. Under our complaints guidance, we are able to make small payments to add weight to our apology for our poor service and the
impact this has had. surly this is admittance to not doing their job properly.

After reading
DWP uses secrets and lies to unlawfully snatch back money from claimants Published: 12 February 2023.
I think I am going to do what my local MP told DWP and if they uphold their decision He imagines that I will very probably wish to take this matter to a Tribunal hearing. I am seriously thinking about doing this.
I wonder what people's thoughts are on this.
Thank you for your time and carrying on and reading this .

I'm not sure that an appeal will help, the UC Regulations clearly state that all overpayments, even those caused by the DWP themselves, are recoverable. I believe this has been tested at the Upper Tribunal.

My best recommendation is for you to contact your MP again, whilst overpayments are recoverable the DWP do have authority not to make the recovery.
