PIP "new" paper form - type answers and glue them on?

With the 2021 "new" PIP form - is it OK to glue the typed responses on to the form?

Or must they be handwritten directly on to the form?

Or will attached typed sheets be OK, if every sheet is clearly labelled?

Thank you!

Hi Alex

Welcome to the forum. Please go into your records and change your forum name. At the moment your full name is showing and this is open for anyone to see on the internet. Follow the link on how to do this benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum

You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum

It is perfectly ok for you to glue typed responses on to the form, you need to make sure they are well glued down as they go through an automatic scanner.

It is also perfectly OK for you to type your answers and attach them as extra pages to the form, just make sure that each page has your full name and NIN at the top and that they are numbered, we recommend "page X of Y" so that it is easy to see if pages are missing.

Make sure you clearly mark on the form where your answers are and on the relevant page that you are answering question X.

I would not split your answers across the form and attached pages, do one or the other for each activity (not question), splitting it risks the second part of your answer not being read.

Attach the pages to the back of the form using a staple or make a hole in the top left corner and use a treasury tag, string or ribbon to the form. The pages need to be easily detached so that they can be scanned by the DWP.

Just to add to the advice already given.

The scanners that the DWP use have sheet feeders, documents are not manually scanned one sheet at a time as you might do at home, so just make sure that there are no edges that are not stuck down, as it could result in the section being peeled off.
