My friend has got Pip, standard for both. He then went on to UC which put him in the group for handing fit notes in. He's asked for the unfit for work group since February this year and has not heard anything yet, or even if he has to attend a medical to get in to that group.
He has been told that there will be no more telephone "catch ups" from UC, and we understood that to be for everyone, not just him.
However today on his journal he has been given an appointment to attend the Job Centre. It doesn't say why so now he is very worried. His most recent fit note was sent to them just last week. What do they want do you know? This causes terrible anxiety for him.

Hi Judy

It is called Limited Capability for Work Related Activity (LCWRA), in the old legacy days they called it the support group.

It could be for anything such as reviewing their claimant commitment due to the information on the fit note.

Will you be going with your friend for support?

UC have contacted my friend via his journal and said it's a back to work assessment. Why is he had ng this if he's giving fit notes still. The fit notes are showing that his condition is worsening not improving. Any insight would be great, thank you.

Hi Judy

Could it be that your friend is going to have a work capability assessment, if they are then this is used to decide what group if any to place them in, i.e LCW, LCWRA or fit for work.
