To quote you :
“Just to follow up on my recent post. If you can manage to go out to places, familiar or unfamiliar by being accompanied, then it is unlikely you will be able to claim under 1e. This is providing that the person accompanying means you are safe, timely, acceptable etc. If the other person adds nothing to allay your heightened anxiety etc you don't need them!
None of mobility 1 requires the use of public transport, although if you can't drive and have walking problems, there maybe a relevance.”
- I was banned from driving due to seizures
- I have panic attacks and non epileptic seizures
- I avoid public transport at all costs
- I need someone to accompany me in a car at all times incase of these events
- I avoid crowds, so often would travel at night
They scored me for 1E on the basis of most of that (with the exception of the night time thing)

Hi AnxiousAnonymous,
I did say in a previous post that DWP often get confused about Mobility 1!
Also it seems they often award a lower descriptor perhaps to avoid paying enhanced rate.
If you are within 13 months of the decision date you could put in an MR request. However if this is more than the ordinary first month you will need to provide good reason why you are late. It is more difficult to find good reason the later you are.
If of course you have scored points under mobility 2, and have already achieved enhanced rate. Just notch this down to experience as you there us nothing you can effectively appeal. Remember, however to note down your objections to the current points when you fill out the renewal form.

Hi AnxiousAnonymous
You are over thinking things. As you have stated you told the assessor that you can leave the house 2- 3 times if accompanied.
You need to contact DWP and ask for a copy of the assessors report, once you get the report go over it with a highlighter highlighting any errors.
The report will also give you an indication on how you got on at the assessment.

Hi Gary,
I was actually awarded 1E probably because I don’t go out that much rather than 1F
Had the award a year now
