I sent my claim form back to DWP last week and today I had a text from AIS saying they'll be handling my claim and will contact me for an assessment if necessary.
Does anyone have an idea on their current timings? They haven't indicated whether it could be a month, year, or anywhere in between.
Additionally, any extra info about how AIS usually operate in regards to assessments would be really useful!
I would expect you to be contacted within the next six weeks, but that is a guess, and in the current climate, it's impossible for us to know. You might hear from them next week, but it could be much longer. (It won't be a year).
If you want to understand the assessment process, you can read the details in the Guide to PIP Claims and Reviews. It will run you through the whole process. benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/pip
If you find that you have any specific questions about the process, come back and ask and we will try and help.
