Advice on PIP review form completion please was created by KittyB
The renewal form has arrived.
My condition is exactly the same no better no worse.
I am intending to write 'no change' and then submit a clearer account of how I'm affected for each descriptor. (I've looked at my original form which, looking back, was a rambling essay but I now have a better idea from this guide). I scored no points on some areas that I should have done but I did scrape together enough overall to get full PIP so decided to let it lie.
A few Sticking points:
I have a variable but fairly predictable condition. It flares up for months, then goes into remission for several weeks before starting up again. I average it over 1 year and I'm affected 65% time. For 35% I'm to all intents and purposes unaffected and can do all of the activities. If they sent someone out to spy on me at this time, questions might be asked.
What's the best way to explain this? (I was originally assessed on a very bad day and was so ill that the assessment had to be abandoned. Not happy with this they sent someone round when I was on a good day, so I appeared extremely well and on the fiddle , and ended up at tribunal)!
I live alone and don't get any assistance at all -I just get on with it and have learnt how to manage over the years. I've exhausted all treatment options so have no care plan, don't need regular medication or see a doctor. How do I convey on the form what help I need?
Thank you.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Kitty B
The DWP only send people to 'spy' if they believe fraud is coming on. Many people have better days where they are capable of more than they are. You are affected more than 50% of the time.
If you need help to undertake any of the PIP activities then say so. It doesn't matter that you don't actually have the help. Again that is common for lots of claimants. Make sure that you emphasise that all treatment options have been exhausted as assessors nearly always question why someone is currently having 'treatment.'
