Hi kerry180
Unfortunately you have not given enough information, when you say you are claiming tax credits are we talking about working tax credits, child tax credits or both?
We also do not know your circumstances, you may be able to claim New Style ESA; www.gov.uk/guidance/new-style-employment-and-support-allowance
You may also be eligible to claim UC depending on your circumstances.
You do need to get advice from your local Welfare Rights Organisation who can take all your circumstances into consideration; you can find your local Welfare Rights Organisation to help you with advice by clicking on the link below and putting in your post code, it will then come up with a MAP with a list of agencies. advicelocal.uk

Kerry
Just to add, you cannot qualify for WTCs and ESA at the same time, ESA requires any work to be for less than 16 hours a week and WTCs require 16 or more hours, there is no overlap.
