Chairlift was created by ColumbusC
My wife gets PIP advanced mobility. Our stairs are steep and narrow. She's slipped and fallen. We're thinking of getting a stairlift. Is there any help for that?

Hi ColumbusC,
Unfortunately there is no provision under PIP to provide assistance for a chairlift, but there is nothing to prevent using money from PIP being spent on this.
There maybe grants that you can get either from the local authority or local charities. Failing that if you are a Housing Association or Council tenant, you might be able to get assistance or seek more suitable housing, although this may not be an immediate solution.
You may use to contact the local council housing office for more information.
Social services my also be worth contacting, as they may also be able to offer some assistance to help with mobility. They may also offer a full OT assessment which may be generally helpful.
I'm sorry I can't be of more assistance.
