PIP Video Assessment was created by BirtyB
I had my assessment a couple of weeks ago by video consultation. I had contacted the assessment provider and asked for it to be recorded. I was told that if I wanted it recording I would have to change to a telephone appointment, which would create a longer delay. I have a neurological problem , as yet not diagnosed, so thought it would be best to have an assessment where the assessor could see me. After the assessment I asked PIP for a copy of the assessor's report that finally came today. The assessor has practically ignored more neurological problems only mentioning it as not yet being diagnosed. I have had consultations with a neurologist and have been referred to see a neurologist who specialises in movement disorders. I asked the assessor if they had contacted the consultant I named and they answered "absolutely", yet there is no input of information obtained from the consultant. Anyhow, I recorded the assessment on my mobile phone which captured all the audio and video if me. No visual recording of the assessor was done. Can I use this as evidence when it comes to the MR stage. I have also now received a copy of the latest letter sent from my neurologist to my GP. Is it worth uploading this as further evidence even though I have had my assessment. Thanks

Hi BirtyB
When you received a copy of the assessors report (PA4), have you checked the health professional's opinion?
That will give you an indication on what the decision maker may award. I was going through a PA4 with a claimant a few months ago, she thought the report was very negative but when we checked the health professional's opinion she was awarded enhanced on both components, the decision maker agreed with the report.
If you do not get what you were hoping for then yes use the neuologist letter as evidence in your MR, as to your recording, it may be appropriate to get a transcript done, especially if it shows serious discrepancies between what the assessor said and what was reported.
You could also make a formal complaint.

Thank you for the response Gary. I had already calculated the points and the HP recommendations would give 13 points DL and 10 points mobility. The HP states that they considered 12 points for the mobility but as I go shopping several times a week ( I have to as I use pre prepared vegetables and they have short dates) and use the trolley to support myself, and that I can drive an automatic car as proof that I can manage the 20 to 50 metres. They have ignored the fact that I said that I cannot use my walking stick reliably due to the pain in my hands and take it with me to help get up after one of my numerous falls. They also state that although I have many trips and falls I have not hurt myself seriously. They did not consider or ask how much pain I was in after a walk

Hi BirtyB
You may want to hope for the best but plan for the worst using the assessors report.
Go through the report highlighting glaring errors and then start drafting your MR, if the outcome is not as expected then you already have a head start, remember you need to meet the criteria to be awarded points, use our guides to help you: benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/pip

Thanks Gary, that is what I am intending to do. The most annoying part is that the HP stated that they had contacted my GP and neurologist consultant, but no further evidence was referenced or used in the reasoning. They have now had over 90 pages of medical evidence. In general I thought that the assessor was quite reasonable and had at least read my initial claim and some of the medical evidence.
I used your guides extensively when I was filling in my initial claim and have used them previously in my wife's MR and appeal and then later renewal (done without assessment).
I also recommended B&W on a recent Mindmatters course that I did for learning how to cope with chronic conditions, a lot of the talk in the group chat sessions always seemed to end up with complaints and frustrations in dealing with PIP claims and reviews
