Self employment was created by Lynda
Hello I currently receive ESA (contribution based) and PIP. I am going to start selling digital prints on Etsy and don’t know who I need to tell or what I need to do? I would appreciate any advice and guidance. Many thanks Lynda x

Hi Lynda

I'm sorry, but your question is outside the scope of this forum. You would be advised to find a welfare advisor in your area who can look at the entire picture and tell you how your benefits would be affected. advicelocal.uk/ - How to find help locally

Some people work and receive PIP, but that depends on the criteria for which a claimant has been awarded. If you think your condition has improved, you need to inform them.

Your ESA will be affected by how much you may earn. It will require a different phone call from the PIP - they are two different areas.

Hi thank you for replying. My condition hasn’t improved this is just something I like doing and think I can earn some money doing with not much actually work if that makes sense.

Hi Lynda

You will need to get advice from your local welfare rights organisation, if you work 16 hrs or over then that could void your claim, you may be able to claim therapeutic earnings/permitted work; www.gov.uk/government/publications/emplo...itted-work-factsheet but you should seek specialist advice first.
