Is it possible to work under 16 hours and still receive tax credits?

Hello,

I'm aware working tax credits are paid to disabled people if working over 16 hours. I am working just under 17 hours but I am struggling with this. I want to keep working but ideally 6 hours if possible. The routine, structure and connection to colleagues really helps me. If I were to lose the tax credits my health would also really be affected as this enables me to seek alternative therapies etc.

Is there any way around this? I feel I am currently stuck between working too many hours and not working at all. I am impacted on some of the days I work and my days off. I have also had a lot of sickness due to it all getting too much.

Thank you in advance for any advice.

I believe there is a four week run on of Tax Credits if you stop working or your hours dip below 16 a week but my understanding is that you cannot continue to recieve TC after this period if your hours remain below the 16 required.
