PIP appeal - evidence was created by scarletthollie5
I am appealing against my PIp decision. I covertly recorded the assessment , which was done via video link. Can l use the transcript as evidence?
I did advise DWP of the recording at the MR stage
Thank you

HI scarletthollie5
Yes, you can use the transcript as evidence. Glad you have it. Make sure that you keep the original copy of the recording.

Hi scarletthollie5,
What I have done previously is to have 2 versions of the transcript. The first is as accurate as you can make it. Viewi as a film script so the whole thing could be totally recreated. You can put an asterisk or eg underline where there is over talking. Explain this at the beginning. Indicate (pause) or, (pause 3 seconds) if a pause occurs. Or (cough) etc.
Save this version. Then copy this and version 2 can be annotated. Was there any angry tones, or were you upset. Maybe the assessor constantly interrupted. Maybe something wasn't true. Refer to report. ' at page 6 The assessor has noted I said x but I said y.'
Put the comments next to the appropriate place in the transcript and note the time as well.
Use the transcript to show the assessor didn't listen/misunderstood etc. You don't know that he was obviously lying but you can prove he didn't write down/take into account what you said.
Send in the unedited transcript and then the second one with comments.
Alternatively put the comments all on a separate page and simply refer to the times on the unedited transcript.
Keep a copy of both and also the recording itself.
I hope this helps.

Hi plus88k,
There may be software you can use to create typing from audio. However you may just have to do it the hard way and just listen and type. If you have a typist friend try and persuade them to help!
